Terms of Use
The rules for using Fennec Hint: what we offer, what we expect from you, and what the app's advice is not.
Effective from 3 September 2026.
Who provides Fennec Hint
Fennec Hint is provided by a natural person, not by a company. The other party to these terms is Honore Moustapha Pekaou.

What Fennec Hint is
Fennec Hint is a personal assistant for sport. You save your clothing and your gear; the app matches them against the sport you picked and the weather forecast, and suggests what to wear and what to bring.
It also includes the Club, an anonymous notice board for finding someone to train with.
By using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.
You must be 18 or over
The service is for adults. At sign-up we ask you to declare it, and the server refuses the registration if the declaration is missing.
We do not verify age with documents: we rely on your declaration. Declaring falsely breaks these terms and leads to the account being closed.
Your account
One account, one person. You are responsible for what happens through yours, and for the credentials that open it: do not share them.
The email address you give must be yours and working. It is the only way we have to let you recover your account, and for new registrations from the app it must be confirmed before you can get in.
If you suspect someone else is using your account, change your password and write to us.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the service for unlawful purposes, or to infringe anyone else's rights;
- attempt to reach data that is not yours, or to work around the checks in the app and on the server;
- automate your use of the service, overload it, or query it in bulk;
- upload content or images you do not hold the rights to;
- impersonate another person.
Club and published content
In the Club you are the publisher: sport, place, day, number of people and a note. What you write is your responsibility.
The board is anonymous and your username is revealed only after an accepted contact. Do not publish precise addresses, private contact details or other people's data — neither yours nor theirs.
Offensive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, deceptive or unsolicited commercial content is not allowed.
The content you publish stays yours. You authorise us only to display it inside the service, because that is what it takes to show it to the people it is meant for.
Reporting, blocking and moderation
Any post can be reported and any person blocked, straight from the app.
We review reports at least once a day and, where intervention is needed, we act within 24 hours: removing the content, suspending the account, or both.
We do not promise pre-publication review of every post, nor an individual reply to every report. There are no moderators awake around the clock, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
A suspension blocks use of the Club. It does not block access to the account: you can still manage your data and delete your account.
Recommendations are informational
This is the most important section on this page.
Fennec Hint's suggestions are generated automatically from your wardrobe, the sport you picked and the weather forecast. They are help with getting ready — not technical, medical or safety advice.
Manufacturer instructions and official safety guidance always take priority over anything the app says. This matters most for protective equipment — helmets, harnesses, ropes, safety devices in the mountains or on the water: if the manufacturer says one thing and Fennec Hint says another, the manufacturer is right.
The decision to go out, to take on a route or to use a piece of equipment stays yours, and so does the responsibility for judging your own condition and the environment.
The weather is a forecast
Forecasts come from MET Norway and apply to the city you entered. A forecast can change, can be wrong, and the mountain ten kilometres away can have weather the city centre does not.
Do not use Fennec Hint as your only source for decisions where the weather bears on your safety.
Wear estimates are estimates
When you give a purchase date and an expected lifespan for a piece of gear, the app works out how much of that life has passed and warns you as it nears the end.
It is an indication based on time, not an inspection. It does not replace visual checks, maintenance, or the lifespan limits stated by the manufacturer — which, again, take priority.
Intellectual property
The Fennec Hint name, the logo, the software, the design and the service's texts belong to whoever runs Fennec Hint. You may not copy, modify or reuse them without permission.
Your content stays yours: your wardrobe, your photos and what you write in the Club.
Weather data comes from MET Norway and geographic data from OpenStreetMap, under their respective licences.
Availability and changes to the service
We do what we can to keep the service working, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available and free of interruptions. We depend on external providers too.
Features can change: we may add them, alter them and — when necessary — remove them. If a change substantially affects what you have, we will tell you.
Plan limits and prices can change too. A change does not apply retroactively to a period already paid for.
Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, in particular the rules on content and acceptable use.
You can close your account at any time from the app, without writing to us and without giving a reason.
