Account deletion
How to delete your Fennec Hint account and everything that belongs to it.
Effective from 3 September 2026.
How to delete it
Deletion happens inside the app, in three steps:
- Open Profile from the bottom bar.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
No need to write to us, no form, no reason required. Deletion starts immediately.
What gets deleted
Everything belonging to your account, in a single operation:
- the account itself: username, name, email and password hash;
- your profile, your profile picture and the consent that came with it;
- your whole wardrobe — clothing, accessories, gear — and every photo you had uploaded;
- your training log and the city you had entered;
- the Club posts you had published and the join requests you had sent, including the requests others had sent to your posts;
- your blocks, the recommendation cache, usage counters, subscription and recovery codes.
Photos are removed from storage before the database is touched: if a file could not be deleted, the operation stops rather than leaving any behind.
What remains, and why
Two things survive deletion, and it is right that you know beforehand:
- The reports you had submitted, for at most 24 months. They stay in anonymised form: the link to you is removed, and whoever reads them does not know who made them. They exist for whoever has to decide whether content breaks the rules — a report that vanishes along with the person who made it leaves no evidence exactly when it is needed.
- Some technical operating records: how many requests the service handled, with what outcome and how long they took. They contain no username, no email and no other identifier, and cannot be linked back to you.
It cannot be undone
Once complete, deletion cannot be reversed. There is no bin, no cooling-off period, and we cannot restore anything: the data is gone.
If you want to come back later, you will create a new account and start from an empty wardrobe.
If you cannot get into the app
If you have forgotten your password, the app is still the fastest route: from the sign-in screen, Forgot password sends a code to the address you registered with, and from there you can get back in and delete the account yourself.
If you genuinely cannot get back in, write to us at support@fennechint.com and we will help.
We do not delete an account simply because someone asks us to by email. We will first need to establish, reasonably, that the account is really yours: without that check, anyone who knew your address could make someone else's data disappear.
